Position Information

The School of Public Policy (SPP) at the UC Riverside is a nationally ranked school, and is home to BA, MPP and BA/MPP programs. The Admissions Recruitment and Academic Program Specialist (incumbent) is the primary point of contact for all recruitment, outreach, and admissions processes for undergraduate and graduate programs in the SPP. Under direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Student Affairs and guidance from the Director of Undergraduate Education and Director of Graduate Education, the incumbent assesses candidates' backgrounds and future academic/career goals to effectively advise them of appropriate graduate programs and research areas within the SPP. The incumbent advises applicants on various admissions processes and criteria, documentation requirements, and on-boarding activities. The incumbent will help to administer any SPP program offerings to support recruitment and admission activities, marketing, data analytics, student outreach, and program evaluation. The incumbent is expected to conduct travel to foster institutional relationships for recruitment and outreach efforts for SPP programs.

The full salary range for the Admissions Recruitment and Academic Program Specialist is $59,000 - $103,400 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $59,000 - $92,300 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective students and the public.
Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials.
Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities and specifically at UC, and/or specific colleges and schools.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to foster a collaborative and cooperative team environment and function as a supportive team member with academic and staff personnel at all levels.
Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments, i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Knowledgeable in analytical skills, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to listen and respond to the needs of customers to achieve excellent customer service measured byoutcomes rather than activities.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities in a high-volume environment.
In-depth knowledge of current public educational programs and trends.

Familiarity with CRM functionality.
