Under the general direction of the Department Financial and Administrative Officer (FAO) and in consultation with

the Shared Service Center in the Bourns College of Engineering (POSSC) and the Central Personnel Services

Unit (CPSU), this position provides academic personnel and payroll support to a large administrative cluster.

Provide analysis, implementation, evaluation, and recommendation of new and existing system-wide and local

policies, procedures, and guidelines. First contact for employees with payroll, benefits, onboarding, and

offboarding questions. Identifies opportunities to continuously improve the effectiveness, accuracy, and delivery of

payroll services. Learn and apply knowledge regarding academic personnel, staff personnel, and associated contracts, policies, and procedures.

The salary range for the Academic HR Analyst is $49,800 - $84,200 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $58,400 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Acquiring knowledge of organization, college, and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures, and understanding of variances to stated policies.
Acquiring knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of discipline(s) served.
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organizational and problem-solving skills.
Acquiring knowledge of organization's human resource management system (HRMS) and other related business software programs and systems.
Acquiring knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
