Job Summary | The S.J. Quinney College of Law is seeking a driven, personable, detail-oriented Major Gifts Officer with excellent writing and communication skills to identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects for the University. This person will be responsible for working with the rest of the Development and Alumni Relations team to coordinate, plan and implement fundraising activities and alumni events for the College of Law and to help secure financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Utah Law is among the top law schools in the nation. We’re also among the best value law schools, with average student debt load below the national average thanks to our lower cost of attendance and high rates of job placement and bar passage. The staff, faculty, and students at the College of Law are an incredible force for good. |
Responsibilities |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four years of experience in high-end repeat sales or direct fund-raising required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills also required. Fund-raising or repeat sales experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully establish long term relationships with high-end customers is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |
Preferences | Fundraising experience which includes direct solicitation of contributions, volunteer leadership support, written and verbal presentations, and strategy development. |
