Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker III will provide skilled and expert workmanship in performance of a variety of maintenance / repair tasks in one or more craft areas at a master level.  Responsible for a wide variety of installation, maintenance, and trade specific work.

 

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Perform skilled maintenance, repairs, and operations on minor electrical, buildings, and other critical facilities assets including general building maintenance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and other critical facilities assets.
  • Assist other facilities staff with skilled maintenance, construction, and project tasks including painting, light electrical and plumbing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education/Experience

  • High School or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience in construction, general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related trade.

 

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Ten (10) years of experience in construction, general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related trade.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Five (5) years of experience in HVAC/Mechanical.

 

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance.

 

Other Information

This position may work in or around all weather conditions, extreme temperatures, chemical fumes, standard office conditions, biohazards, chemicals, electrical hazards, and mechanical hazards.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
