Advertised Job Summary | Maintenance Technician University of South Carolina Upstate STA00622PO21 Spartanburg, SC Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor – HRL performs specialized trades and custodial duties in the performance of repairs and maintenance of buildings in Housing & Residential Life facilities. Provide training and supervision to temporary & student staff. Regularly inspect facilities and promptly address repair and custodial issues.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) | High school diploma and 3 years directly related trade experience. Pre-employment drug screen is required. Good driving record, valid driver’s license, and successful background check are required. |
Preferred Qualifications | 3 years of experience in Housing Facilities Management and EPA Certification. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Working knowledge of HVAC tools, equipment & materials used in maintenance applicable to the job, especially HVAC. Working knowledge of techniques, methods & practices of designated trades. Skill in use of tools & equipment. Ability to read, understand and interpret plans & specifications. Familiar with most current HVAC practices. Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Work in an environment with students, faculty and administration while maintaining appropriate behavior. Employee will receive annual OSHA and Facilities Maintenance training. |
