The University of San Francisco MA in International Studies (MAIS) program is seeking a motivated and creative individual to support the communications initiatives of the program and help increase the visibility of the MAIS program on and off-campus. This includes connecting with prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, and the broader community via social media and individual outreach. Under the supervision of the MAIS Program Manager and Program Assistant, the Communications Assistant will be responsible for content development and weekly management of MAIS’s various social media platforms, with an emphasis on instagram posts and stories, and larger blog/website posts/profiles, as well as occasional outreach to prospective students.Full Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Maintain and promote weekly MAIS program presence across different social media platforms (Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram).
Participate in weekly meetings with USF MAIS staff
Generate, edit, publish and share content that highlights the work of MAIS faculty, students, and alumni
Build and foster greater online engagement with MAIS social media platforms
Provide campus tours to prospective students, host class visits, and meet with prospective student via zoom, as needed
Co-create a social media plan and develop MAIS social media calendar under the supervision of MAIS staff
Assist with documentation of MAIS related events, classes, and meet-ups
Help promote MAIS led and co-sponsored events through the creation of digital images and fliers
Requirements:
Previous experience with content creation/development
Strong writing and communication skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently with little oversight, as well as in collaboration with others
Demonstrable social media platform management experience
Excellent attention to detail
Solid time-management skills
Enthusiastically creative
Able to practice good judgment and work ethic
