Job Description
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems Lab has opportunities
at Hill AFB in Salt Lake City, UT for program management and software engineering positions in support of Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Operational Training (OT) capabilities for the Combat Air Force (CAF) Operational Training Infrastructure (OTI) that enhance live training and effectively integrate live aircraft and systems within the synthetic training environment. Responsibilities include program execution, strategic planning, business development, program leadership, and technical product development in support of integrated DoD Live, Virtual, Constructive tools, software, and range system environments. The application of subject matter expertise in relevant information technology, software engineering, systems engineering, networking, cyber solutions, and test/training range environments is required.
Job Duties
Program management roles include planning and management of program performance, cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of systems for product development and systems integration. The program manager will provide engineering team leadership with a variety of backgrounds in software development, systems engineering, test/training range tools, and integrated test/training assets required to execute product development and range integration efforts. Software engineering responsibilities include the development and management of product and program requirements through design, implementation, test, and operation/management. Candidates for this position must demonstrate expertise in virtualization, automated processing, orchestration of tools, software development, systems architecture, and networking concepts.
This position requires excellent communication skills in order to convey analysis, design, and trade spaces to the customer and users, and to assist in the description of required current and future capabilities. The candidate will be required to write technical papers and proposals for new research and development.

Education & Length of Experience
Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II
- A Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
- A Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
- A Doctoral degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business.
Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate
- A Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
- A Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
- A Doctoral degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in the development of DoD fielded systems and training environments
- 5+ years experience in the development and fielding of Live, Virtual, Constructive training tools and integrated network environments

U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
