Description: Princeton University is pleased to announce a search for Ludwig Princeton Scholars, a program aimed at attracting talented early-career scientists (0-2 years from PhD, MD, or clinical training). The program centers on cancer metabolism, broadly defined to include technology development, computation, biological studies, drug development, and clinical trials relevant to diet, metabolism, cancer, cell growth, metastasis, autophagy, microbiome, and/or the immune system. Scholars will be housed at the new Ludwig Princeton Branch on Princeton University's campus, or in collaborating labs at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Appropriate backgrounds include a Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, physics or an M.D. Appointment will be to a postdoctoral or more senior research position, with a competitive salary and possibility of renewal for up to five years. Scholars will be given a substantial degree of independence, with mentorship from at least 2 faculty members, one of whom must be a member of the Ludwig Princeton Branch (currently, these are Yibin Kang, Josh Rabinowitz, Eileen White, Lydia Lynch and Michael Skinnider). Scholars may have the opportunity to perform a modest amount of teaching on Princeton's campus, according to a plan they may develop in conjunction with their mentors. While teaching, a Scholar may hold a secondary appointment as a Lecturer in an appropriate department, pending sufficient course enrollments and the approval of the Dean of the Faculty.
