Ludwig Discovery Scientist (Professional Specialist) - internal applicants only

Location: Princeton, NEW JERSEY
The Ludwig Princeton Branch at Princeton University seeks an experienced chemist with knowledge of small molecule compound discovery and optimization, including expertise in library screening, compound design, potency optimization, PK/PD optimization, synthetic methodology, management of contract vendors.  Typical experience would include a PhD in synthetic or medicinal chemistry or related discipline and 8+ years working on small molecule discovery, either in an academic or industrial setting. 

Key responsibilities include working with Branch faculty and research groups to:

1. Establish assays for targets identified by the branch researchers
2. Identify leads through library screening, virtual screening or literature review
3. Design next-generation molecules
4. Oversee outsourced synthesis
5. Optimize potency and properties for in vivo use

The ultimate goals for this individual are to identify high-value tool compounds that drive biological discovery and contribute to eventual translation of the Branch's ideas into medical advances.
