Lower School Extended Day Supervisor - Ranney School (Tinton Falls)

Division: Early Childhood and Lower School
Reports to: Division Head/Assistant Division Head and Director of Extended Day
Schedule: One or More Day a Week entire school year 3:45PM-6:00PM
Grades: Three-year-olds-Fifth Grade

Summary: The Extended Day Supervisors monitor Lower School students after school hours until they are picked up by parent/caretakers, (3:45pm-5:45pm). The Extended Day Supervisor organizes an after school schedule that allows students appropriate time for snack, play, and homework. Student supervision and safety is the supervisor’s priority, as daily attendance is monitored and proper ‘sign-out’ procedures are followed for every student in accordance to best practice at Ranney School. The Extended Day Supervisors represent Ranney School and hold students accountable for Community Standards and follow all safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

-Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Two years of previous experience working with elementary school aged children preferred
-Possess basic knowledge and understanding of school aged children responsibilities
-Take daily attendance of all attending extended day students
-Assure that parents/caretakers sign children out upon pick-up
-Organize an after school schedule that allows for snack, play, and homework time
-Enjoy managing a classroom, Extended Day supervisors must put structure in place for student success. Behavior expectations, rules of conduct, and follow through on poor conduct is important.
-Extended Day supervisors should attend to the maintenance of the extended day spaces making sure all areas are in order and clean for the next day
