Work Schedule Summary
The Lookout Restaurant at the University of Idaho Golf Course is hiring multiple cooks. Varying shifts available during the hours of 9:00 am – 10:00 pm. Open 7 days a week, year round.

Position Responsibilities


Position Summary
The Lookout Restaurant is looking for cooks who provide excellent culinary service by preparing customers food in a fast and professional manner while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
The Cook’s duties may include:
  • Preparing food orders, dine in and pick up.
  • Garnishing food and plating food for guests.
  • Maintaining clean service areas .
  • General food and beverage preparation.
  • Receiving and organizing food products.
  • Washing dishes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities


Job Duty Function Provide excellent food service and operations support at the University of Idaho golf restaurant and bar by:
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Working a variety of positions within the restaurant which may include cooking and preparing food for the restaurant and golf customers;
  • Preparation of food items and inventory organization for daily operations;
  • Preparing food to Golf Course standards;
  • Working food service events such as golf tournaments for catering, or any other areas that fall under the University of Idaho golf course food and beverage;
  • Cleaning of the restaurant including washing dishes;
  • Assisting with maintaining and cleaning of all equipment within the restaurant and bar;
  • Preparing orders, answering questions/assisting guests.

Job Duty Function Assist with inventory management by:
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Tracking and maintaining an accurate inventory before and after service;
  • Receiving product which includes verifying appropriate product is received; unloading and storing product in the correct location;
  • Ensuring the workstation is appropriately stocked prior to service; including putting products were they belong and restocking for the next shift.

  • Notifying Assistant Manager when repairs need to be scheduled for equipment;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications


Required Qualifications
  • Food service experience or experience with food preparation
  • Must be able to obtain a food handlers certificate within 7 days of hiring
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous experience working in a team or group environment
  • Restaurant kitchen experience

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Occasionally lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, kneel and move throughout shift
