The University of Idaho, Golf Course is Moscow’s only 18- hole golf course hosting more than 17,000 rounds of golf each season. The course offers beautiful panoramic view of the university’s arboretum and rolling hills of the Palouse accompanied by state-of-the-art facilities including a Pro Shop, Indoor Golf Simulator, and the Lookout Restaurant.
Position Overview
At the University of Idaho Golf Course, the Lookout Restaurant is hiring an Assistant Manager. Under the direction of the Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant and bar.
Assistant Manager duties may include:
  • Managing staff
  • Quality assurance
  • Training of restaurant and bar staff following company policies
  • Evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Supervising and executing opening and closing of the restaurant
  • Assisting with staff evaluations
  • Cleaning
  • Occasional scheduling
  • Bartending
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
One year of work experience that includes:
  • Supervising staff
  • Providing customer service and building good customer relations
  • Bartending and working in a food and beverage setting

Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Other
  • Duties of this position require successful candidates to be at least 21 years of age, due to serving alcohol
  • Valid Idaho TIPS certification or Idaho ABC approved alcohol server-seller certification or ability to obtain within first 7 days of employment
  • Valid ServSafe Food Handling certification or the ability to obtain within the first 2 weeks of employment
Additional Preferred
  • Culinary training or related experience
  • Operating a cash register
  • Work experience that shows knowledge of food safety standards
  • Must possess good mathematical skills
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work well in stressful situations
  • Managing multiple projects with competing deadlines that require an attention to administrative detail

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Occasionally lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, kneel and move throughout shift
