Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
This position provides leadership to faculty, candidate supervisors, and students in literacy teacher performance expectations, analysis of candidate performance on the California LPA and CalTPA, and represents Attallah College in the educational community for these functions.
Responsibilities
Literacy Operations
● Coordinate the Literacy Performance Assessment (LPA) trainings, training materials, and online modules for students, faculty, and University Supervisors
● Advise faculty on literacy updates pertaining to the science of reading and structured literacy
● Attend state level meetings on the LPA and CalTPA and disseminate information to faculty, staff, and students
● Provide up-to-date communications regarding the LPA and CalTPA to faculty, staff, supervisors and students.
● Host large group sessions to assist students with technical support with the LPA and CalTPA
● Support the remediation process for students who do not pass the LPA and CalTPA
● Track remediation and resubmission of LPA and CalTPA
● Analyze LPA and CalTPA data, report findings, and recommend changes to coursework, fieldwork, and other aspects of candidate preparation based on results.
● Liaison to Accreditation and Assessment Office
● Coordinate calibration for supervisors and faculty on the LPA and CalTPA
● Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Possess a valid California teaching credential, Master’s degree in Education or related area
  • Virtual instruction experience
  • Use of the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Experience providing trainings and workshops
  • Experience with data management and reporting
  • Good management, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of language and literacy development for diverse populations
  • Ability to use computer with Microsoft programs (Word and Excel) and Outlook e-mail.
  • Ability to use basic math operations
  • Knowledge of the science of reading and structured literacy
  • Ability to coordinate large events (e.g., workshops and trainings)
  • Experience in working with students (K-12) in literacy
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to work with Chapman’s data management software

  • Position requires on-call rotation duties. Employees need to be available during on-call shifts.
