The Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement (CCSE) in the Brian Lamb School of Communication is seeking applications for a Limited Term Lecturer (LTL) to teach the Boilers Go to D.C. Summer Scholars Internship Program. LTL positions are temporary, non-benefit eligible, part-time appointments hired each semester on an as-needed basis. A hybrid or remote schedule may be considered for this appointment. 
 


PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Teach the Boilers Go to D.C. Summer Scholars Internship Program experiential course
  • Coordinate with CCSE Managing Director to finalize course syllabus and curricula
  • Assist in the development of the Exploring Career Paths in Washington D.C.
  • Maintain office hours and provide feedback to students in a timely manner
  • Maintain FERPA certification
  • Understand and adhere to university policies and guidelines
  • Have competency in effective and appropriate online and in-person instruction

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Political Science or a closely related field is required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong skills in organization, interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college level or relevant professional experience
  • Ability to engage students in the subject matter, fostering critical thinking and active participation
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the diverse needs of students and adjusting teaching methods accordingly
  • Comfort and proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes
