Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. 


Department Information
 

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,500 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. The Department of Psychological Science is a dynamic and rapidly growing department in the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Department has more than 50 full-time and many part-time faculty supporting a major and minor in psychology, including a fully online undergraduate program. The Department is committed to providing a rigorous education that prepares approximately 2,500 majors (Bachelor of Science) and 700 minors for careers and graduate training. The Department strives to create a collaborative and supportive climate for our students, faculty, and staff.


Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track Limited-Term Instructor or Limited-Term Assistant Professor of Psychology faculty positions with a preferred start date of  August 2024. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.  

This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia. 


Responsibilities
 

The selected candidates will be asked to deliver undergraduate courses across a variety of areas, including general psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, biological psychology, clinical psychology, sensation, and research/statistics. Other courses may be assigned as needed and dependent on expertise. The teaching load is five courses per semester. Candidates may be asked to work in a variety of modalities, including in-person.    

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. 


Required Qualifications
 

For Limited Term Instructor:  

  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in psychology or a closely related discipline is required.  

OR  

  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in psychology is required.  

 

For Limited Term Assistant Professor:  

  • A terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in psychology or a closely related discipline is required or a terminal degree in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in psychology.  

 

NOTE:  For ABDs, required degree must be earned by start date.


Preferred Qualifications
 
  • A demonstrated record of effective teaching online or hybrid courses 
  • Willingness to teach in face-to-face, on-line, or hybrid modalities

    Background Check
