Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.


Department Information
 

The Keeping Sights Upward Journey Honors College has experienced significant recent growth of both its student population now at nearly 1900 students and endowment currently at $25 million. The KSU Journey Honors College collaborates across the university and with community partners to support excellence in undergraduate education at Kennesaw State University. We recruit academically talented, highly motivated students into honors cohort programs and general honors pathways. Honors curricula focus on interdisciplinary opportunities, experiential learning, community engagement, leadership, and global education. They are also designed to help students build knowledge, peer and professional networks, and important skills and competencies which will lead to their long-term individual success and ability to impact others. The KSU Journey Honors College also supports excellence in undergraduate education through the Office of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships which serves the entire university.


Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor or Limited Term Assistant Professor in the Honors College with a preferred start date of August 2024.  This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.


Responsibilities
 
  • Teaching (90%) HON 1100: Introduction to Honors; Honors Experiential Learning Courses (HON 2800, HON 3002 and/or HON 3203), and HON 2400: Honors Discoveries, with the possibility of teaching honors sections of general education courses in the faculty member's discipline.
  • Service (10%) in the honors college in support of one of our other functions (e.g. honors admissions, co-curricular activities, or the Office of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships)

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.


Required Qualifications
 
  • A minimum of a Master¿s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in discipline represented by one of KSU's academic departments or schools is required for an Instructor position.

OR

  • Terminal/Doctorate degree, or its foreign equivalent, in discipline represented by one of KSU's academic departments or schools is required for an Assistant Professor position. 

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • A terminal degree in a discipline represented in one of KSU's academic departments or schools.
  • Experience teaching honors students or classes.

Background Check
