Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. 


Department Information
 

The Mechanical Engineering Department is the largest department in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology with over 1650 undergraduate and 50 graduate students. The department is the home of 25 nationally renowned full-time faculty members with diverse research interests, including smart materials, bioengineering, nanotechnology, soft robots, nuclear energy, and aerodynamics. While focusing on the application of the principles of mechanics and energy to design cutting-edge technology, mechanical engineering offers students a foundation to begin their careers in an ever-changing environment. The Mechanical Engineering department offers a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's Degree, a Mechanical Engineering Master's Degree, an Aerospace Engineering Minor, and a Nuclear Engineering Minor.   The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor of Fluids and Thermal Sciences in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with a preferred start date of August 2024. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
 


Responsibilities
 
  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the general area of mechanics, fluid mechanics, and thermal sciences.


Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
 


Required Qualifications
 
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required. The required degree must be earned by the start date.
     

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • A PhD degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline 
  • Willingness to teach in face-to-face, on-line or hybrid modalities
  • Record of past teaching mechanical engineering courses at the undergraduate level
