Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. 


Department Information
 

The KSU College of the Arts (COTA) is a student-centered community of distinguished artists and scholars. As the most extensive collegiate dance program in Georgia, the KSU Department of Dance offers a B.A. in Dance with concentrations in ballet and modern dance, and a minor in Dance. KSU Dance employs 18 full/part-time faculty, and is housed in state-of-the-art dance facilities, including metropolitan Atlanta's only Dance Theater. The KSU Dance Company has received top honors at the American College Dance Association and has been invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in five national years. 


Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor of Dance faculty position in the Department of Dance with a preferred start date of August 2024. 


Responsibilities
 
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in contemporary dance technique, choreography, improvisation, and/or other topics and approaches that align with the candidate's area of specialization.
  • Choreograph original works on undergraduate dance majors.
  • Additional departmental responsibilities include student success initiatives, recruitment, and participation in department activities that serve programmatic goals and the mission of the university.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
 


Required Qualifications
 
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Dance or a closely related discipline is required. 
     

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate dance students. 
  • Strong professional profile in contemporary choreography and performance.  
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Background Check
