The University of North Georgia's Social Foundations and Leadership Education Department is seeking applications for the position of Limited Term Faculty beginning Fall 2024. This is limited term position for Fall 2024. Summer teaching is possible but not guaranteed.

  • The faculty member is expected to teach specified courses, prepare course materials, provide support and guidance to students, maintain records pertinent to accreditation, and supervise students in completing field placements. 
  • Commitment to a collaborative curriculum development model is expected. 
  • General faculty responsibilities in the department include the following:
    • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, depending on need and credentials, face-to-face, hybrid or online;
    • Supervise candidates' field and clinical experiences associated with specific program courses; and 
    • Participate in program review, program assessment, and accreditation activities. 
  • Master's or Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field, with at least 18 doctoral level graduate credit hours in C&I or closely related field, is required
  • Experience in effective and engaging teaching in the fully online environment
  • Evidence of effective and innovative teaching practices
  • Expertise in academic field of Social Foundations, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
  • Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction, or a closely related field, is preferred; 
  • Experience teaching courses at the college level; and 
  • A record of scholarly activity.

  • Knowledge of current national and state standards, as well as GaPSC program standards for Curriculum & Instruction or a related field; 
  • Familiarity with learning, teaching, and equity and justice-oriented educational theories; 
  • Professional written and oral communication skills; and
  • Ability to work collegially with other members of the faculty and utilize opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration;
