Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University seeks a Licensing Associate to support the Office of Technology Development within the Division of Research - Boca Raton, FL.

The Office of Technology Development (OTD) is responsible for the legal protection and commercialization of intellectual property developed by FAU faculty, staff, and students. The Licensing Associate reports to the Senior Associate Director for Technology Development.

Summary of Responsibilities:
• Advise researchers on the technology transfer process.
• Identify university innovations with commercial applications.
• Evaluate the commercial potential of disclosed innovations.
• Research potential industry partners to commercialize innovations.
• Prepare non-confidential summaries for innovation marketing.
• Contact potential industry partners to solicit feedback for innovations.
• Supervise compliance with commercialization agreement terms.
• Manage invoicing, receipt, and disbursement of revenues associated with commercialization agreements.
• Process invoices and payments to external vendors.
• Perform required reporting for federally funded innovations.
• Plan outreach and education events related to technology transfer.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Five years of relevant experience.
Prior technology transfer and/or intellectual property experience
Prior marketing and/or business development experience
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary:

$50,000 per year.

Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Work hours to be determined with final applicant. Flexible work schedule available with supervisor approval.
