Summary of Job Duties:

The Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant II (ECMHC II) will serve as a consultant to early childcare providers, educators, families, physicians and others. The ECMHC II is culturally competent and an expert in the promotion of positive early childhood mental health. The ECMHC II will possess skills that include a thorough knowledge of early childhood development coupled with an understanding of family dynamics and relationship building on an individual/family, provider, and community level. They hold strong expertise in the role of the EMCHC II and are equipped to support their peers. They are equipped to take on special projects in ECMH II (beyond consultation), such as parenting support, trauma-informed care training and reflective practice groups. This position will represent UAMS in a positive and professional manner and adhere to all best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications (Essential for the job – the applicant must possess at the time of hire)

Education, general:

Master’s degree in in a mental health related field, e.g. counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling and 5 years of experience in the area of early childhood development, early care and education, and early childhood mental health.

Licenses, certificates, or registration

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be licensed (or license eligibility) in a Mental Health field or eligible in the State of Arkansas.

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook); internet;
  • Training and public speaking skills;
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Experience with virtual learning modalities (e.g. Zoom)
