The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is dedicated to high quality medical student and resident education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research. The department supports clinical care and career development in multiple disciplines, including general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and neuromodulation including electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

 

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is recruiting a full-time Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or Licensed Independent Social Worker to join the department that will provide evaluation and treatment of individuals seeking mental health care in a variety of mental health diagnoses, including, but not limited to, mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral disorders, trauma-related disorders, sleep disturbances, sexual health, marital or relationship issues, problems secondary to medical diagnoses, and will be expected to offer individual, couples and group therapy.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.


Essential Functions
  • 100% (1.00 FTE) clinical position.
  • Primary clinical service is direct patient care in the form of individual psychotherapy.
  • Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, consultation, treatment and related psychological services.
  • Apply and supervise (if applicable) the application of psychological procedures and techniques in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating psychological disorders.
  • Provide crisis management and case coordination with interdisciplinary clinic team members.  
  • Function as a member of interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide education and support regarding psychosocial and behavioral issues to medical school faculty, attending physicians, nursing staff, residents, interns, medical students, and other trainees as requested and/or needed.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, case conference meetings, and other clinic meetings.
  • Fulfill medical records, billing, HIPAA, and other administrative requirements associated with patient care.
  • Perform related duties based on department need. 

Required Education

For Licensed Independent Social Worker:

  • Master’s Degree must be in Social Work.

 

For Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor:

  • Master’s Degree
     

Required Trainings/Certifications

For Licensed Independent Social Worker:

  • State of Ohio Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).

 

For Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor:

  • State of Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
     

Required Experience

For Licensed Independent Social Worker:

  • Two (2) years of supervised social work experience.
