Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary

The Early Childhood Supports & Services (ECSS) program, located in Jefferson Parish, will serve as the local early adopter site for children (0-5) and their families in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines Parishes. A licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the ECSS program is responsible for carrying a clinical caseload, which will involve a comprehensive clinical assessment of child clients and their families and provision of evidence-based treatment in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed manner. This LCSW will engage in clinical and reflective supervision with a senior clinician(s) and will participate in weekly clinical team meetings to staff cases. Further, the LCSW will participate in on-going training to enhance their capacity to engage in evidence-based infant mental health treatments to fidelity. The LCSW will participate in ECSS Network meetings and coordinate the family’s case needs with the ECSS Family Support team, meet as needed with case managers/community health workers regarding specific child and family needs and progress, and consult with senior clinicians for any clinical and programmatic coordination and support needs.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proficient and effective interpersonal and communication skills, language skills, clinical documentation and clinical report writing skills.
• Willingness to participate in extensive infant and early childhood mental health training if not yet trained.
• Proficient practice and knowledge of evidence-based child and family interventions.
• Working knowledge of the fundamentals of child development, including the role of family and broader community and social environments. 
• Ability to coordinate treatment planning and family needs with case managers and community health workers.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to verbal and written questions from coworkers, clients, referral sources, and community partners, as indicated.
• Ability to manage mandated reporting to and communication with Department of Children and Family Services, as indicated.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Successful completion of a master’s level graduate degree in a mental health field (e.g., social work, counseling)
• Licensed or license-eligible mental health professional in Louisiana (e.g. LCSW, LMFT, LPC)
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum three years’ experience as a child and family therapist.
• Experience in the clinical practice of infant and early childhood mental health or experience working with children.
• Knowledge of and skills to conduct comprehensive assessment and treatment planning for children 0-5 years.
• Certification and/or rostering in infant and early childhood mental health evidence-based practice(s), such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and/or Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) or willingness to engage in this training.

This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
