The College of Fine Arts seeks a Music Library Coordinator. This position is responsible for management of the College of Fine Arts Music Curriculum Library, which holds more than 25,000 complete sets and functions as both a performance and circulating library. The position works closely with faculty, staff, and students to obtain, prepare, distribute, and maintain music for all School of Music ensembles (including BU Bands); provides library services to faculty, staff, academic centers, and affiliated organizations (e.g., BUTI, BYSO); and oversees the maintenance and circulation of the librarys collection of music sets, reference and instrumental method books, scores, books, and audio music. This position also arranges for necessary performance licenses and advises on the application copyright law to maintain compliance for both in-person and streamed performances; serves as liaison with the Universitys library system; maintains the library database; and supervises and trains student employees.


B.A./B.S., prior performance library experience, broad knowledge of music, including musical terms and basic understanding of foreign languages (French, Italian, German and Latin, knowledge of music theory, history, orchestration, transposition and music notation conventions, good customer service skills and three to five years of related work experience. Prior experience with MS Office environment and Filemaker Pro.
