Work Schedule
This is a full-time permanent position requiring a 37.5-hour work week. The primary work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. From time to time, the schedule might be modified to accommodate needs of the University Libraries.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Job Duties


Duties & Responsibilities
Assists the Acquisitions and Collection Development Librarian with acquiring and purchasing materials for the University Libraries’ collections. Maintains various Acquisitions related files in the integrated library system (ILS) including information on payment and vendors. Processes invoices for payment, including purchase order and/or signature requests, submission to the University’s invoice system, recording payment in the Libraries’ ILS, and reconciling libraries’ records with the university Banner System. Assists with the order process by locating material, creating purchase orders, and processing invoices for University Libraries’ resources. Uses appropriate programs and utilities in the acquisitions, serials, and cataloging modules of the Integrated Library System (ILS) to process bibliographic, acquisition, and vendor information. Communicates with vendors regarding invoicing and payment details.

Maintains appropriate records and statistics related to work achieved. Maintains appropriate order and financial records. Monitors financial data for bookkeeping operations. Compiles and reports appropriate statistics on various categories of work performed.

Participates in Department-wide responsibilities, projects, and activities. Maintains knowledge of library policies and procedures and computer skills through attendance at meetings of library and departmental staff and training classes. Assists in training of new employees. Participates in individual and group meetings related to the work of the Department and/or the University Libraries. Compiles and submits statistical data or other reports, on established schedule or as requested, on all work performed, using departmental forms or submission mechanisms.

Maintains proficiency in areas of expertise and responsibility related to the duties of the position.
