Job Description

Boston College seeks a Liaison Librarian to the Carroll School of Management, a highly ranked, globally recognized business school that emphasizes experiential learning within multidisciplinary, research-driven curricula. Home to multiple research centers and executive programs that foster ethics, leadership, and entrepreneurship, the Carroll School's mission articulates a dual focus on dedicated teaching and top-level research by a world-renowned faculty. The Carroll School offers the degrees of Bachelor of Science, MBA, Master of Science in Accounting, and Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, and its academic departments include Accounting, Business Law and Society, Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, and Management and Organizations.
The Liaison Librarian is responsible for the development and management of the extensive library collections (monographs, journals, databases, data resources, primary sources) relating to the Carroll School's subjects; for in-class library instruction regarding business resources and topics in the field, such as industry analyses, data management, and information systems; for Digital Scholarship and data consultations, with support from the Digital Scholarship Group; and for supporting student learning and scholarly research. Liaison librarians collaborate with faculty and perform outreach through direct user assistance, individual consultations, and library instruction programs, providing high quality service to all users of the Libraries. Library liaison work is supported by the Libraries' Cohort Liaisons model, led by the Heads of the Collections, Educational Initiatives, and Digital Scholarship departments.

Non Senior, 1+ years hiring range: $57,850 - $72,300

Requirements

Requirements:
Master's degree in library science from an ALA-Accredited institution, or completion by December 2021
Preferred qualifications:
Degree or experience in a relevant subject area
Experience in public services in an academic library
Experience in the selection of scholarly materials and business data packages, particularly in the areas of Accounting, Business Law, Management, and Marketing
Experience working with academic business data and resources, such as WRDS modules, Bloomberg, or Factset
Experience in providing library instruction
Work experience that demonstrates a high level of collaboration, initiative, and leadership
Ability to work adaptively with library users from diverse backgrounds with a demonstrated commitment to responsive and quality library services
Familiarity with Business and Management resources
