The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagement has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) LGBTQ+ Hub Business Services Professional position.

Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families.  Functions include institutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review, strategic planning, and broad unit business operations such as parking and transportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate and property management, retail services or job responsibilities that combine fiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.

Business Professionals are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a program, under the guidance and direction of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity Equity Inclusion and Community Engagement or another designated director in the ODEICE.  

Department Summary:

The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagement was established in July 2020.  We will be implementing best practices as it relates to diversity, equity and inclusion for students, staff, faculty, and visitors on campus, and will maintain and develop mutually beneficial partnerships with the community.

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for creating and facilitating the connections within and outside the Anschutz Medical Campus, while being able to represent the LGBTQ+ community with stakeholders and partners. Consistently work on the inclusivity aspects of the LGBTQ+ community within the Anschutz Medical Campus. This position requires someone to have the ability to build community partnership within and outside of the Anschutz Medical Campus. Identify. This position will also build and sustain partnerships to support diversity and inclusion projects/plans/initiatives and strategies. Act as the key spokesperson for the LGBTQ+ Hub. The ability with guidance to effectively navigate an academic health sciences campus/system on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Responsible for numerous tasks and projects related to the business operations of the LGBTQ+ Hub program, including proposing new processes and procedures consistent with overall strategies set by the Vice Chancellor’s Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagement
  • Creates and maintains programming specific to the needs of the LGBTQ+ community
  • Oversees the health research and patient care resource repository for the LGBTQ+ community
  • Builds and maintains community relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Organizes and manages events and activities for the LGBTQ+ Hub
  • Develops and maintains the database including evaluations and surveys specific to the LGBTQ+ Hub
  • Assist with the development and management of LGBTQ+ educational content for campus wide trainings and development
  • With guidance and direction from the VC of ODEICE, provides supervisory support for a graduate assistant position
  • Assist with managing the program budget for LGBTQ+ Hub
  • Assist with managing the LBGTQ+ Hub Advisory Board

Salary and Benefits:

  • The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $44,526 to $62,337
  • The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
  • The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
  • This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, social science, women and gender studies, psychology, computer science, business, health sciences, physical sciences, business administration, higher education, counseling, hospitality, liberal arts, human services, student affairs, finance, accounting, education, social science, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least one (1) year of professional work experience in a similar office environment
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred in social science, women and gender studies, psychology, computer science, business, health sciences, physical sciences, business administration, higher education, counseling, hospitality, liberal arts, human services, student affairs, finance, accounting, education, social science, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Research experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Understanding and some experience with fundraising and/or grant writing
  • Relationship management including building relationships on behalf of LGBTQ+ communities.

Competencies:

  • Ability to build partnerships with diverse communities and individuals essential services.
  • Knowledgeable about program evaluation, data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience in an academic environment
  • Demonstrated ability with data tracking

Conditions of Employment:

  • Full-time 40 hours per week (may require flexible schedule to accommodate evenings, weekend and events/meetings, etc.
  • May require occasional travel within and/or out-of-state.
