Responsibilities*

The successful applicant will teach undergraduate and Master's level piano performance students in two courses devoted to piano collaboration (instrumental and vocal); a sight reading course to undergraduate and possibly Master's level students; additional possible work teaching private lessons; work in the Voice department coaching students in individual repertoire or opera workshops also possible. Departmental service (attendance of department meetings and participation in departmental activities such as performance juries, etc., and school committee work) will also be expected.


Required Qualifications*

Advanced degree in collaborative piano 

Demonstrated excellence in collaborative performance and coaching/teaching 

Demonstrated ability to empower, advocate for, and value a broad range of students of diverse identities and experiences, as shown through pedagogy, mentoring, and related activities. 

Experience teaching in higher education as a coach and collaborative pianist; proven track record coaching voice students 

Member of the International Keyboard Collaborative Arts Society (IKCAS) desirable

Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $51,000 FTR, salary commensurate with experience, higher salary may be considered for exceptional candidate.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
