Summary

The Department of Natural Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters is seeking a LEO Lecturer I in the Earth and Environment Discipline, to teach Introduction to Geological Sciences, Laboratory for the Fall 2024 semester which begins on September 1, 2024 and ends on December 31, 2024. Contractual full-time rate per term is $25,500; term salary is prorated to the number of sections taught and course effort percentage. Depending on enrollment, there may be a need to teach 4 sections which would be 100% effort. Based on performance and enrollment, Lecturer may be re-appointed for the Winter 2025 term.


Required Qualifications*

Prospective candidates should minimally possess a graduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as: Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences Geological Sciences, or Environmental Studies. Relevant work and teaching experience in the environmental field is desirable. Strong communication skills are needed. Preference will be given to those with a history of teaching excellence in this discipline.


Desired Qualifications*

Previous teaching experience and professional experience in the environmental field is preferred.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
