The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and the Department of Communication and Media at the University of Michigan invite applications for a Lecturer I position to lead discussion sections at 33.33% effort for the Fall 2024 Term.  This appointment is scheduled to begin on August 26, 2024 and end December 31, 2024.

Responsibilities include attending lectures, leading/teaching 3 individual discussion sections, attending weekly meetings with instructor, hold weekly office hours, grade assignments, 
COMM 305.007 - Public Relations
Lecture: TuTh 8:30-10am
Discussion sections: Friday 12-1pm, 2-3pm, 3-4pm,

This course provides an overview of basic principles and practices in public relations. Students will develop a broad understanding major concepts, theories, and ideas in public relations studies and will hone key competencies necessary to work in the field of public relations. Particular attention is given to public relations writing and steps to launching a public relations career.

Applicants must have earned a Master's of Ph.D. in Communication Studies, or a related field, prior to the beginning of the appointment. Candidates should have a proven teaching record of excellence.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
