Job Description

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a full-time lecturer in Spanish, with a focus on Spanish/Hispanic Linguistics. The appointment will begin in the fall semester of 2022, and run for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal. Classes begin in August.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We seek a candidate with expertise in linguistics to teach courses at all levels of the Spanish Language Program, including elementary and intermediate courses in Spanish, upper-level linguistics courses, and Spanish for Heritage Speakers. We are especially interested in candidates who could teach Spanish sociolinguistics.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Spanish/Linguistics.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Spanish/Linguistics.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
