The Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position in economics, starting mid-August 2023. This is a 9-month full-time appointment for two years with possibility of renewal, title to be commensurate with experience and qualifications. We seek a colleague to join our dynamic program and make strong teaching contributions in areas that support our public policy and economics areas.

Responsibilities:

The Brooks School of Public Policy is seeking an experienced instructor with a background in economics to teach courses to undergraduates and masters students. Ability to teach core courses in microeconomics, applied economics, and data analytics a plus. The successful applicant will also contribute to advising and communication. Additional opportunities for instruction in upper-level and professional development courses, summer session teaching, and distance learning are also available.

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will have earned a PhD (or will soon earn a PhD) in economics or a related discipline; experience teaching undergraduate and/or professional (MPA, MPP, MHA) graduate students; evidence of ability to teach oral communication at the university level, oversee teaching assistants and internships, and develop and coordinate activities with other instructors.

The Brooks School of Public Policy, launched in September 2021, harnesses the university’s wide-ranging expertise in public policy teaching, research and engagement into a shared academic home.
