Department Summary
The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban design. Position Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation and Health Services seeks an outstanding and energetic full-time, on-campus lecturer with expertise in the field of health data analytics, health management or related health specialties to begin in Fall 2024. This is a non-tenure track, one-year appointment on the Denton, Texas, campus. Teaching responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate level courses such as health services administration, healthcare management and related health disciplines, such as public health. The candidate selected for this position will be expected to engage in high-quality and innovative instruction in both traditional and non-traditional formats; serve as appropriate on department, college, and university committees as well as participate in professional organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Health Administration or Management, or a closely related health field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by Aug. 31, 2024;
  • Evidence of experience with instructional technology (instructional software, learning management systems such as Canvas) and ability to teach in traditional and non-traditional formats and settings (on-campus, off-campus, evenings, online);
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and teaching students in undergraduate and graduate rehabilitation education programs; 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching courses in health policy, health economics, health management, health informatics, or related courses.
