Description: Princeton University's Department of Religion invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in Coptic for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. The successful candidate will teach an introductory and intermediate course in Coptic, both courses at the graduate level but open to undergraduates as well. The fall course will introduce students to the grammar of Coptic and prepare them to read original texts in Coptic, while the intermediate reading course will have students reading Coptic texts from a variety of different genres. Responsibilities will include teaching one full course per semester, grading, and holding weekly office hours. The start date of the appointment is expected to be September 1, 2024, or January 16, 2025. Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. required by start date of appointment. Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is expected.
