Position Summary
The Human Biology Program in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University invites applications for a permanent full-time Lecturer position in Human Biology with special consideration for applicants with expertise in One Health, environmental health, health disparities, aging, or addiction and a record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Although non-tenure track, the position has a promotion track from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer to Teaching Professor. Teaching responsibilities will mainly be in the Human Biology Program, although a split with the Department of Anthropology is possible based on the applicant’s expertise. The IU Human Biology Program is a rapidly growing academic unit with over 600 students that offers BS, BA, and minor degrees. IU Human Biology employs innovative educational practices, including interdisciplinary team teaching and active student research, that promote a holistic approach to scientific issues as they relate to the biology of humans. Faculty within the program share appointments with numerous academic departments across the College of Arts and Sciences, including Anthropology, Biology, and the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine.

Basic Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Anthropology, Biology, or a related field is required. Area of expertise should have clear relevance to human biology. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills, and documented evidence of classroom and/or laboratory teaching excellence. Salary is commensurate with experience and full benefits are included. The expected start date is August 1, 2024. Although a permanent position, the initial appointment is for three years.
