This is a Pediatrics/OB Pool Ad for the following courses:
- NURS 233:Nursing Care of Children Laboratory
- NURS 333: Nursing Care of Children for ABSN Students Laboratory
- NURS 231: Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family Laboratory
- NURS 331:Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family Laboratory for ABSN Students
The School of Nursing at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer to teach a pediatric or OB clinical course. Clinical days, hours, and clinical sites vary within San Diego County and Riverside County.
Applicants will use effective face-to-face instruction and assessment techniques to promote students’ successful achievement of course learning competencies
The clinical course instructor is responsible to prepare for and teach the clinical course with the general supervision of the course coordinator. Duties include but are not limited to:
Minimum qualifications:
- MSN
- Pediatric (Acute Care Peds) or OB (L&D & Post-Partum) nursing work experience within the previous 5 years (NICU only experience not accepted)
- State licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Meet the School of Nursing’s requirements regarding current immunizations and CPR licensure
- Per California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment
Preferred qualifications:
- DNP, or PhD in Nursing
- Experience teaching a pediatric or OB clinical course
- Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,329 - $5,943 per full-time month
The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $4,530 – $6,056 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $5,450 – $11,994 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
