Location
 

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.


Department Information
 

Located in the Northwest of Atlanta, Michael J. Coles College of Business is fully accredited by AACSB-International and serves around 9,000 students. The Department of Information Systems and Security consists of 30+ full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate degrees in Information Systems, Information Security and Assurance, and Cybersecurity; and graduate degrees in Information Systems (MSIS), Healthcare Management and Informatics (MSHMI), Digital Financial Technologies (FINTECH), and a dual MBA-MSIS degree. The department also offers an IS concentration in the Ph.D. (Business Administration) program. The academic programs at the department embrace applied learning and actively pursue industry engagements to offer students a transformational experience. Our faculty members have diverse research interests offering collaboration opportunities. The department hosts the 3D printing lab, Brainlab, Information security & assurance lab, and an immersive visualization environments research supercluster. Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Information Systems and Security faculty position in the Department of Information Systems and Security that begins August 2024. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.  This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.


Responsibilities
 
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department, and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.
  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in information systems management, web development, IS architecture, systems analysis, and design, principles of information security, or other courses related to information systems and/or information security. 
  • Service to the department, college, and/or university is expected. Specific service expectations include working with the department chair to identify and develop prospects (external organizations) for partnership opportunities and assist with the implementation of a funded partnership program.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. 


Required Qualifications
 

To teach undergraduate courses:

  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in business administration, information systems, and/or information security or a closely related discipline is required.

OR

  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.

 To teach graduate courses:

  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in business administration, information systems, information security, or a related discipline is required.

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Record of prior teaching (in-person, online, or hybrid modality)
  • Experience with outreach and engagement with industry partners

Background Check
