JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Surveying Engineering Position Non-Tenure Track

Penn State Wilkes-Barre invites applications for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Surveying Engineering (Assistant Teaching Professor title designates completion of terminal degree .) This is a multi-year appointment, 2 years with an option for renewal, 36 weeks, to begin August 5, 2024, or as negotiated.

Responsibilities: Teach an average of four (4) courses and associated labs each semester in Surveying and related disciplines; courses will include Surveying Measurement Analysis, Geodesy, GIS, and Photogrammetry. The successful candidate will be committed to active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology in a student-centered environment. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in activities related to the Surveying Program, such as Program Coordination, ABET data organization and recruiting. Involve students in undergraduate research and professional activities. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities.

Qualifications: Masters or PhD. in Surveying, Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Geodetic Science, Cartographic Science, Civil Engineering, or related areas at the time of appointment. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. Professional license in Surveying in Pennsylvania or a commitment to be licensed within three years is preferred.
