JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The College of Engineering Advising Center is an innovative, knowledgeable, and collaborative team that fosters networks of resources, guidance, and direction to assist students in navigating their unique learning experiences. We are seeking an innovative, knowledgeable, and collaborative individual to join our team.
This position will deliver administrative support for the Engineering Advising Center, units within the Office of the Assistant Dean for Academic Support and Global Programs, and the faculty advisers who serve in the center. This role is primarily responsible for the following duties:
- Support the Engineering Advising Center front desk by providing receptionist services (via phone, email, and walk-in traffic) and managing the advisers' calendars and student rosters
- Evaluate situations and provide support for students in need of assistance with scheduling appointments, navigating student systems, and understanding academic requirements
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise, and keep time for wage payroll student assistants.
Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting prospective and new student activities (Accepted Student visits, Prospective Student visits, Spend a Summer Day, and New Student Orientation) and supporting the College Academic Integrity, Faculty Senate Petition, and Dual-Degree processes.
- Other projects assigned as needs arise.
This position requires attention to detail and accuracy, a willingness to work professionally as a team player, a commitment to providing an inclusive welcoming environment, handling interruptions with poise and patience, and comfort working within a fast-paced student environment. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work independently to complete daily tasks and possess competent decision-making skills in ensuring student needs are addressed. Knowledge of University policies and procedures is desired. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, LionPATH (student portal), and Starfish (adviser scheduling system) is strongly preferred.

This position typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position will require successful completion of standard background checks.
