Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics at The University of Texas at Tyler is seeking a non-tenure track full-time lecturer to start in the Fall 2024 semester. The successful applicant must have at least a Masters degree in mathematics and experience teaching undergraduate math courses. This successful applicant will be primarily teaching students who are TSI-liable in our Intermediate Algebra course. Lecturers are expected to teach five courses each semester. Review of applications will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled.
Essential Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching – the teaching load is five courses per semester
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Mathematics (or higher)
- Experience teaching a variety of mathematics courses
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the TSI Assessment in Mathematics

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
