Georgia Southwestern State University's Department of Mathematics is committed to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment for all students. Job Summary
 
  • The position is a 10-month non-tenure track position.
  • A typical teaching load is 5/5 or 15 credit hours per semester (fall and spring).
  • Additional teaching in the summer may be available. 

Responsibilities
 
  • Deliver a variety of courses in the Department of Mathematics including supporting courses in the core curriculum, College of Education, and College of Business and Computing.
  • Actively engage in research and scholarly activities to contribute to the academic excellence of the department, college, and institution.
  • Provide dedicated advising and mentorship to students as assigned, fostering their academic and professional growth.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to service through active participation in departmental, institutional, and professional activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair, Dean, and Administration. 

Required Qualifications
 
  • Masters required (Doctorate preferred) in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related field by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Experience teaching college-level courses in mathematics.
  • Experience teaching mathematics in middle/ high school.  
  • Experience teaching First-Generation students. 
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines.
  • Experience coordinating students in experiential learning opportunities, internships, and High Impact Practices (HIPs). 

Proposed Salary
 

$45,000 - $50,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
