Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.


Department Information
 

Serving over 250 music majors and 1600 non-majors, the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music is a dynamic and inclusive community of learners within the College of the Arts at KSU, the 3rd largest public university in the University System of Georgia. The Bailey School of Music offers undergraduate degrees in performance (instrumental, vocal, and jazz), music theory, composition, and music education, as well as a music minor. Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Low Brass in the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music with a preferred start date of August 2024. This is a nine-month contracted position.


Responsibilities
 
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in low brass (tuba, euphonium, trombone) including applied lessons, pedagogy, literature, brass ensembles, and/or brass techniques or methods courses, is required. 
  • Service (departmental, university, and/or community/professional) is required.
  • Scholarly/Creative Activity in the field of low brass performance/pedagogy is required.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
 


Required Qualifications
 
  • Master's degree in music with a concentration in low brass (tuba, euphonium, trombone) performance and/or pedagogy 
  • At least 3 years collegiate teaching experience is required (graduate teaching assistantship experience may be considered)
     

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Doctoral degree in music with a concentration in low brass (tuba, euphonium, trombone) Evidence of excellence in recruitment
  • Evidence of commitment to student success 
  • Experience teaching at the high school level (private studio, public school, and/or private school)

    Background Check
