Unit Mission Statement
The program in economics offers courses that provide a valuable component of a liberal arts education as well as providing a foundation for graduate work in economics or for enrollment in professional programs such as law, business, urban and regional planning, public policy, as well as for careers after completion of the B.A. degree.
Position Summary
The Department of Economics at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer of Economics position that will begin August 10, 2023. The initial appointment will be issued for a two-year period, with subsequent renewal contingent on a successful performance review, department/program needs, and availability of funds. The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective instructor with a 3-3 teaching load.
The Department of Economics values demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching in a highly selective liberal arts environment. We seek an individual who is prepared to teach rigorous courses—primarily principles of economics, microeconomic and/or macroeconomic theory, statistics and/or econometrics, and classes in fields of their specialization. We particularly value candidates with experience teaching a wide range of different courses.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree from an accredited institution in Economics or a related field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Economics from an accredited institution is preferred at the time the candidate begins appointment, August 10, 2023.
