Position Overview

The Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department invites qualified scholars and professionals to submit applications to co-teach ME790 Advanced Functional Materials and coatings for the Spring 2024 semester. Applications will be reviewed by ME faculty for consideration. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. All qualified instructors are encouraged to apply. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.


Job Description

Prepare and present lectures for ME790 Advanced Functional Material and Coating as described in the approved course syllabi, hold office hours, design and supervise laboratories, projects, and exams as appropriate to the course. Grade student laboratories, projects, and exams and/or with another faculty member in assigning final grades. 

Areas of interest include the following: Mechanical Engineering (ME) or related field.

Time spend on job duties are outlined below: 

  • 25% Preparation of course materials
  • 25% Lecturing in class
  • 25% Office hours
  • 25% Grading
