The Department of Marketing in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for one full time (nine month), non-tenure track position. The preferred candidate is expected to be hired at the rank of Lecturer. The compensation package is competitive and includes benefits. The position is term-limited and renewable annually based on performance and availability of funding.
Job duties will include teaching four (4), primarily in-person courses each semester (fall and spring) at the undergraduate or graduate level for courses such as consumer behavior, principles of marketing, services marketing, nonprofit marketing, digital/social media, advertising and promotional strategy, and/or other classes based on areas of expertise. Course teaching assignments typically include two to three preps and may vary across semesters. Faculty members are also expected to make service contributions to the department, Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, and Clemson University. The preferred start date is January 11, 2023.

Clemson University is a premier land-grant, competitive admissions institution with approximately 20,000 undergraduate students. The Marketing program currently has approximately 850 marketing undergraduate students, 23 MS Marketing graduate students, 15 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, two clinical faculty members, and eight full-time lecturers/professors of practice. Clemson University is currently ranked 30th among national public universities (U.S. News & World Report) and is designated as a Carnegie R1 research university. Clemson is a small college town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, located on the I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte and is 30 miles outside of Greenville, SC. Greenville has recently been named as a “Top-10 Fastest Growing U.S. City [#4]” (CNN), “Most Fun, Affordable Cities [#5]” (Bloomberg BusinessWeek), and “Best City for Young Adults [#13]” (Forbes).


Applicant must have at least an MBA or master’s degree in marketing or a strongly related field. Preference will be given to candidates with applicable industry experience or comparable teaching experience. All applicants should have potential for excellence in teaching, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to teach a variety of marketing classes at the undergraduate or graduate level.
