Position Summary | The Department of Teacher Education and Administration (TE&A) seeks a Lecturer in Curriculum & Instruction in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will join Curriculum & Instruction faculty in a dynamic undergraduate program leading to EC-6, and secondary teacher certification. Of particular interest to the College of Education are candidates who are committed to improving people’s lives through powerful learning, social-emotional wellness, physical health, civic engagement, and liberatory educational experiences. The successful candidate will be expected to teach curriculum and instruction courses, which may include courses in the bilingual education certification area as well as in other program areas (offered at Frisco, the UNT Denton campus and other off-site locations and online); supervise undergraduate students in internships as needed; and provide service to the Department, College, University, community constituencies, and professional organizations. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding. |
Minimum Qualifications | (1) Earned master’s degree in curriculum and instruction (or a closely related field) or closely related field; (2) Experience in EC-6 education and/or educational systems like those found in Texas. |
Preferred Qualifications | (1) Earned doctorate degree in curriculum and instruction (or a closely related field) with emphasis in bilingual education; literacy education; social studies, math, and/or science education; (2) Bilingual in Spanish/English; (3) Scholarly focus on topics of contemporary urgency; (4) Evidence of service; (5) Experience teaching at the college level. |
