Description: The Department of Spanish and Portuguese invites applications for part-time or full-time Lecturers in Spanish, expected to begin September 1, 2024 or during the 2024-25 academic year, with the possibility of renewal pending departmental need and satisfactory performance. Appointment duty time will depend upon course enrollments. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and proven experience in teaching Spanish at the university level, are absolutely essential. Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. or M.A. working toward Ph.D. preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Linguistics, SLA, or Applied Linguistics, although other fields will also be considered when there is evidence of sustained experience teaching Spanish at the university level. Proven experience in coordination (course, level, or program) and curriculum development will be a plus.
