Position Description
The Department of Human Evolutionary Biology seeks applications for one full-time or two half-time lecturers for the 2022-2023 academic year. The appointment is an annual (twelve-month) academic appointment with an expected start date of July 1, 2022. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal contingent on performance, position availability, curricular need, and divisional dean authorization. The successful applicant will be hired as a Lecturer in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology.
We invite applications from individuals with broad experience and expertise in human evolutionary biology.
Typical responsibilities include:
• Teaching or co-teaching one or two undergraduate courses per term
• Participate in curricular planning discussions with other faculty and staff as it applies to human evolutionary biology education and courses
• Training and assisting students in the use of specialized equipment in the lab for their research, ensuring general lab safety, and managing research activities
• Hold office hours and work one-on-one with undergraduate students
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate in human evolutionary biology or related discipline required by the appointment start date.
Additional Qualifications
Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching is desired.
