Lecturer in Film Production (General/Introductory), Cinematography, Sound, and/or Editing - Film and Media Studies

The Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for part-time lecturer positions to teach undergraduate courses in film production (general) or an elective in cinematography, sound, or editing during the 2024-2025 academic year. The salary range per course is $8,530.85 - $9,050.48.
Applicants must have a MFA in Film Production or a related field in hand by June 30, 2024. Preferred candidates will be an experienced practitioner, with strong pedagogy expertise and professional contacts in industry, public, or independent media sectors. University-level teaching experience in Film and Media Studies is preferred. Candidates with a specialization in community expression-that is, a commitment to underrepresented stories and voices -are especially welcomed. Experience teaching the key competencies/skills of film production is expected.

Fall 2024
9/23/24 - 12/13/24
Winter 2025
1/2/25 - 3/21/25
Spring 2025
3/26/25 - 6/13/25

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
MFA in Film Production or a related field.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
