The Department of French and Italian is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Lecturer in Italian. The expectation of this position is teaching four courses at the undergraduate level per semester. This position is expected to last one academic year. This position is a career track (non-tenure eligible) position and requires in person instruction.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The candidate must be able and qualified to teach four in-person undergraduate level Italian language courses per semester.
  • Actively recruit Italian majors and minors through service and by co-organizing and participating in Italian program events throughout the academic year.
  • Hold office hours.
  • Attend Italian language instructor workshops at the beginning of each academic semester (August & January), and College of Humanities recruitment workshops.
  • Attend other meetings and events as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess a Ph.D. in Italian or related field by August 1, 2024.
  • Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English.
  • Experience in teaching Italian basic and upper-level language courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at college-level.
